Training a Puppy to Sleep through the Night Doesn't Have to Be a Nightmare!

Love Baby Love Sleep

Training a puppy to sleep through the night is one of the first forms of training you will want to originate with your new puppy. The fact is - a puppy is a baby, and like a newborn baby he will wake many times in the night for the first few weeks. You do not have to be completely hostage to your puppy's whims however, and it is inherent to slowly train him to sleep soundly through the night. The key is to take a few basic 'common sense' approaches to bedtime and your puppy in order to begin the good habits that will lead to a lifetime of sound sleep.

The first step in training a puppy to sleep through the night is to thought about control his evenings to ensure he is ready to sleep when the time comes. Puppies as a matter of fact sleep a lot, but if you allow him to sleep away the evening then he will awake refreshed and ready to play just as you are getting ready for bed.

Keep him awake with active play, time outdoors, and fun activities - wear him out so he will fall gratefully to sleep when the time comes for bed. Controlling his food and water intake is also important. In normal plan to restrict access to food and water up to 3 hours before bed. Take him out for a potty break just before retiring for the night.

The next key to training a puppy to sleep through the night lies in putting middle of the night potty breaks on a schedule. In normal potty breaks for puppies that are 7-9 weeks old need to be every 2 hours, at 9-14 weeks this stretches to 3 hours, and at 14 weeks and up, it becomes every 4 hours. Set your alarm and take the puppy out on this schedule, then as you have success with no waking and crying, stretch the program by 15 itsybitsy increments.

In this manner you will be incrementally training a puppy to sleep through the night. All the time wake yourself - if your puppy has to cry to wake you they will begin to feel they can wake you as they like with crying. It is also foremost that these night time potty trips are 'all business' - you do not want your puppy to learn that night time potty trips are party time.

Baby Sleeping Tips - Easy Remedies For Baby Sleep Problems

Love Baby Love Sleep

Are there evenings when you feel that your baby's sleeping patterns will never be regulated? Can you dream a time when your baby will sleep long adequate for the two of you to feel refreshed and rested? Parents know that there is no way to avoid the occasional night in the nursery rocker, but how can we keep those nights with baby sleeping very limited or not at all to a bare minimum?

A coarse interrogate that new parents ask is, "How long will it be before we can get baby sleeping on a schedule?" or "When will we be able to sleep straight through the night without waking up a dozen times?" Does this sound like you on your last visit to the pediatrician? Some lucky parents brag that they have never been plagued with sleep problems at all but the answer to those coarse questions according to the experts is that the mean time when babies start sleeping straight through the night is a year or so.

When you are sleep deprived and can hardly keep your eyes open the last thing you want to hear is that you will have to wait a year or more for relief. Some desperate moms have even questioned why there are sleeping pills for grownups and no baby sleeping aids or remedies. I believe in the natural approach to parenting whenever possible, but I have to admit succumbing to panic due to exhaustion myself. However, I knew that I needed methods to help my baby sleep naturally. In my search I found a few things that worked and I am more than happy to share my methods with you.

The first lesson may be easiest and yet the most important: don't wait until a few minutes before bedtime to start fretting about how to get baby to sleep. I found that the best way to get an child to sleep at night starts with a routine that's put into institution as early as possible.

(1. Organize the nursery to be an ideal sleep environment. Create a space that can be darkened absolutely straight through the use of room darkening window treatments.

(2. Uncover the nursery in a quiet part of your home and have some recipe of creating white noise to block out road traffic and household chatter.

(3. Take time to read the telltale signs that your baby is sleepy. When baby gets fussy or when your see the eyelids droop, stop what you are doing and kick off the bedtime routine. Don't miss this opportunity or you may regret it. Babies can go from the drowsy stage to hyperactive, unhappy creatures with a second wind in article time. If there ever was an instance in parenting when timing is important, this could be it.

Every mother's process for relaxing her baby is unique, there is no exact set of rules for what should be involved. Anything your baby sleeping routine works out to be; stick to it. Try not to vary from it from day to day. The best way to an ideal baby sleep routine, relies on mom having a routine.
You will have a calmer and more obvious child if you are so predictable that baby always knows exactly what happens next.

(4. Stick closely to a schedule. Have a obvious time that you dress baby for the crib. A mum whose newborn had an erratic sleeping pattern shared with me that she stuck to a rigid routine for over a week and practically crumbled more than once. Then practically magically the baby began to answer and started to stick with an early bedtime.

(5. If baby seems unhappy or fussy, many mothers have had excellent results with baby slings. It makes sense that some babies need some time to adjust to the world. These sensitive souls miss the appeal of your body and feeling close to you at all times. Maybe the use of a sling will get you straight through this duration of adjustment and allow you to get a few chores done while you're at it.

(6. Someone else way to ease baby into our strange world is with white noise. There are white noise machines that closely mimic the sounds that are coarse in your womb, but if your budget is tight a table fan may do the trick.

(7. How many nights have we put our limited ones to sleep only to have them get wide awake, when they feel the turn in climatic characteristic from our arms to the cold crib sheet? A solution to this baby sleep qoute is to put a warm water bottle inside the baby's bed as part of your bedtime routine. When the time comes for you to put baby into her crib, take off the water bottle and slip baby into the warm and cozy crib.

The list of baby sleeping tips could go on and on. What works for one baby might not produce results with another. However, calm, loving persistence and repetition will be the basic construction blocks for developing your newborn's quarterly sleeping patterns that will relax her and let both of you start sleeping like a baby.

Baby health ~ Natural Remedies - relieve Colic, Intestinal Cramps, Gas, Teething Pain, Promote Sleep

Love Baby Love Sleep

What is the Baby Bowen Procedure? The Bowen Baby procedure consists of 7 gentle, light touch moves for stimulating equilibrium in your baby's autonomic nervous law (Ana). This polite stimulation will ease your baby's colic and enhance her/his total health and well-being.

Bowen therapy was industrialized by an Australian named Tom Bowen. The government-commissioned Webb description in 1975 reported Tom Bowen attending some thirteen thousand patients annually with an 80-90% success rate, usually in only one or two sessions.

Benefits: Colic; Asthma; wholesome functioning of all organs and systems, especially the nervous, respiratory, digestive and alimentary (elimination) systems; promotes bonding between parents and baby.

How Often: May perform Baby Bowen Moves as often as needed (at the first sign of your baby's discomfort) for the first six-weeks after birth, or weekly as a deterrent and for Well Baby Care.

Baby Bowen Procedure, Part I

The first 4 moves are made on your baby's back, between her/his shoulder blades.

Your baby lays face down, on her/his stomach, or if there are two of you one may hold the baby with her/his chest facing you while the other one performs the first 2 Baby Bowen Moves.

Baby Bowen Moves

1. All the time begin by doing your first Baby Bowen Move on the Left side. Place the pad of your Right thumb flat on top of the muscles lying along the Left side of your baby's spine. Your Right thumb is just above the lowest angle of your baby's Left shoulder blade.

You must first get into the literal, position for performing your Baby Bowen Move by slowly pulling the flat pad of your Right thumb toward you, moving the skin away from your baby's spine as far as it will go, like drawing the string of a bow.

At this end point you will slowly press down and in, hooking the lowest edge of your thumb slightly. Hold this "gateway" entry position for 3-seconds.

By holding for 3 seconds you are giving a tiny challenge to your baby's nervous system, letting it know you are there. You may (or may not) notice a exiguous softening of the tissue as the nerve endings repond and open to your tiny challenge. This feedback loop takes about 3-seconds.

Remember there is All the time a 3-second challenge before each Bowen Baby Move!

Now push your Right thumb Toward your baby's spine, move slowly with even, polite pressure over the muscles, the pad of your thumb flattens as you perform the move.

Your polite Bowen Baby Move are activating nerve endings and sending a signal along the nerve pathway, like a reset switch to your baby's nervous system, to enhance equilibrium and stimulate your baby's natural curative response.

Think of your Baby Bowen Move like turning on a light switch.

2. Now immediately perform the next Baby Bowen Move by reaching over your baby's spinal column and placing the Right pad of your index finger atop the muscles along your baby's spine.

Again you must first get into the literal, position for performing your Baby Bowen Move by slowly pushing with the pad of your Right index finger, to move the skin away from your baby's spine as far as it will go.

At this end point you will slowly press down and in with the pad of your Right index finger, hooking your finger tip slightly. Remember to hold this gateway entry position for a 3-second challenge.

Now with the pad of your Right index finger, pull your index finger Toward your baby's spine, move slowly with even, polite pressure over the muscles, the pad of your Right index finger will flatten as you perform the move.

3. You will immediately follow these first two moves with two more in the same exact sequence and locations except in the opposite direction, Away from your baby's spine.

Place the pad of your Right index finger, flat on top of the muscles along the left side of your baby's spine, and push the skin away towards your baby's spine, as far as it will go.

Gently press down and in with the pad of your Right index finger, hooking your finger tip slightly, press slowly on the muscles, activating the nerve endings for a 3-second challenge.

Now with the pad of your Right index finger, pull your index finger away from your baby's spine, move slowly with even, polite pressure over the muscles, the pad of your index finger will flatten as you perform the move.

4. Now immediately perform the next Baby Bowen Move by reaching over your baby's spinal column and placing the Right pad of your thumb atop the muscles along your baby's spine.

Again you must first get into the literal, position for performing your Baby Bowen Move by slowly pulling with the pad of your index finger, to move the skin toward your baby's spine as far as it will go.

At this end point you will slowly press down and in with the pad of your Right index finger, hooking the lowest edge of your thumb slightly. Remember to hold this gateway entry position for a 3-second challenge.

Now with the pad of your Right thumb, push Away from your baby's spine, move slowly with even, polite pressure over the muscles, the pad of your Right thumb will flatten as you perform the move.

Baby Bowen Procedure, Part Ii

Your last 3 Baby Bowen Moves are made with your baby lying flat on her/his back.

Baby Bowen Moves

Holding Point or energy Blocker - With the middle finger of your left hand apply polite pressure just below the tip of cartilage at the end of your baby's breast bone, called the xiphoid process. Utter this holding point with polite pressure while performing the following two Baby Bowen Moves.

The purpose of a holding Point or energy Blocker is to set your intention for focusing your Baby Bowen Move to a particular location and effectively concentrates the signal you are sending along a particular nerve pathway.

5. Place the pad of your Right thumb mid-way along the border of your baby's left rib cage, slowly move the skin up along the border of your baby's rib cage, to end point as as far as it can go.

Now slip the edge of your Right thumb pad slightly under the angle of your baby's rib and with very gentle, light touch pressure, move your Right thumb downward, along the angle of your baby's rib to the end point and flatten your thumb.

6. Repeat the move on the right side of your baby's rib cage this time using the pad of your Right middle finger. Find your position mid-way along the border of your baby's rib cage, move up along the border to the end point.

Now slip the edge of your Right middle finger slightly under angle of your baby's rib and with gentle, light touch pressure, move downward along the angle of the rib to the end point and flatten your finger.

7. Take your Left middle finger off your holding Point or energy Blocker and place your Left hand on top of your baby's chest to feel your baby's rhythmic pattern of breathing.

Place the pad of your Right middle finger about 1 inch below your baby's xiphoid process.

Feel the breath, in and out, get in sync and on an out breath perform the following move.

Baby Bowen Move: With the Right pad of your middle finger, slowly draw your baby's skin up toward the tip of her/his xiphoid process, then press slowly down and in, hooking your finger tip and pulling downward with gentle, light touch pressure then flatten your finger.

Baby Bowen Moves are most sufficient when performed as your baby is exhaled, breath out. Just do the best you can and with custom you will get into the feel of doing your Baby Bowen Moves to perform excellent results!

Bowen therapy is currently being researched in hopes to better understand why this gentle, noninvasive and holistic law of curative is so effective. The International Bowen Therapy Academy argument is being hosted in June 2006 by Yale University where a Masters Degree agenda is being offered.

Challenges of Having a New Baby

Love Baby Love Sleep

Though it may be one of the most extraordinary experiences in a person's life, bringing a new baby into the house is a challenge, and somethings that new parents will voice with in some, maybe unexpected ways.

Babies do not sleep like grown ups. This is just one of the many changes that new parents must adapt to in their new life of child rearing. Babies only sleep for, like, two hours at a time.

You will finally adjust your lifestyle to the changes that come to you. But at first, the lack of sleep will lead to problems like stress and crankiness throughout the days.

Parents will recognize a whole new realm of public life that is dissimilar from the way that it was before you have a baby. Even a trip to the parents house is amazingly more difficult and you will have to deal. Just straight.

It may be harder to keep up with friends, especially the ones who do not have the children of their very own. But you can do it. You can do it if you make the effort. The endeavor is to keep in touch.

There are some absolutely cool things that happen too, though. You start to absolutely feel like a responsible grown-up in so many ways. And then not so much in others. You will begin to feel a real turn in the way you respond to the world. Like, you will feel a protective instinct kick in whenever somebody else handles your child.

You will feel the changes as they happen to you. The biggest is that you will now feel that the world has consequences for more than just yourself; it affects your child too.

You should expect all or some of these things to happen to you - and expecting them will make it a wee easier to cope. The best thing to do, though, is to cultivate a maintain network with your friends and family.

Mom and Baby at 14 Weeks Pregnant

Love Baby Love Sleep

Baby Development

During this first week of your second trimester, your baby is growing quite fast. He/she is colse to 3.4 inches from crown to rump (the top of your baby's head to his bottom) and weighs almost 1.5 ounces. That's pretty remarkable, inspecting that your baby was only 3 inches long last week.

Your baby continues to grow at a qualified rate in the second trimester. In fact, did you know that by 19 weeks, your baby will have doubled his/her size? At 14 weeks pregnant, your baby's head is larger than the rest of his/her body. It indeed accounts for half of your baby's total length. Not to worry, though. His/her body will soon catch up. Your limited one's facial features are becoming more defined this week. The baby's eyes and ears are exciting to their final positions, and his/her eyebrows are also growing. while pregnancy week 14, your baby's neck is elongating and his/her chin is starting rise up off the chest. The yolk sac that provided your baby's source of nutrition in the first trimester is almost completely gone, and your limited one now gets all things he/she needs from the placenta.

Fun Fact:
Your baby can now pee! By 14 weeks, your limited one's bladder empties every 30 minutes. Since your baby is permanently swallowing amniotic fluid (which gets filtered out through his/her kidneys), passing urine is a fact of life for him/her.

Mom'S pregnancy Symptoms

Now that you're in your second trimester, you may start to notice that some of the annoying pregnancy symptoms that you experienced in the first 13 weeks have disappeared, such as your morning sickness and fatigue. Since you have more vigor in the second trimester, you may want to travel or take a vacation while you can. (Fatigue will come back to haunt you in the final leg of your pregnancy.)

Although you will feel much good in the second trimester, you may start to sense new pregnancy symptoms. Base complaints that pregnant women in the second trimester have contain water retention, gas, heartburn, and backaches.

As you get larger in your pregnancy, you should expect backaches. Over 50 percent of all women sense back pain at some point while pregnancy. They are due to the extra strain that your growing uterus places on your back muscles. You may feel lower back pain when you're standing, sitting, or even when you're in bed.

Another very Base symptom to expect at 14 weeks pregnant is gas. Pregnant women are often more "gassy" than their non-pregnant counterparts. Gas while pregnancy is caused by the elevated levels of the hormone progesterone in your body. Progesterone actual relaxes your gastrointestinal tract and slows down your digestive processes. So expect to sense more gas, bloating, and flatulence while pregnancy.

At 14 weeks pregnant, your doctor can now feel the top of your uterus (called the "fundus"). From this point onward, your doctor will feel the fundus at every prenatal visit to make sure that your baby is growing properly.

Pregnancy 411

Back Pain while Pregnancy

In the second trimester, as you continue to pack on the pounds and your uterus grows larger, you will sense backaches to some degree. (Depending on your pain tolerance, you may feel more pain than the next woman.) Back pain while pregnancy is very common, and it's no wonder. Your uterus can strengthen as much as 1,000 times its customary size by the time your baby is born!

There are many reasons for back pain or backaches while pregnancy. In some cases, it's caused by the extra weight of uterus placing strain on your muscles and adding stress to your joints. That's why your back may feel achier at the end of the day. In some cases, your increasing uterus may press on a nerve and this causes discomfort. If you have weak abdominal muscles, this can also cause pain in your lower back.

Although backaches are uncomfortable and often an unchangeable pregnancy symptom, you may be able to ease your pain by following these tips:

Wear low-heeled shoes that have good arch support. (Not flats) Do not lift heavy objects, if possible. Ask person to do heavy lifting for you. If you have to stand for long periods of time, you should keep one foot elevated on a stool or box. Sleep on a firm mattress. If your bed is too soft, have your husband/partner or friend place a board in the middle of the box spring and mattress. If you need to pick something up off the ground, do not bend from the waist. Instead, you should squat down and bend your knees. Sleep on your side with a pregnancy pillow, or a hold pillow, in the middle of your legs. When you're sitting down, make sure that the chair has good back support. You may want to place a pillow behind your lower back for extra support.

Back pain should never be severe, as this can indicate a problem. Call your doctor if you have severe pain or pain that lasts longer than two weeks. Sometimes, back pain is a sign of pregnancy complications, especially if it's accompanied with fever, burning when you urinate, or vaginal bleeding.

How To identify Overfeeding Baby Symptoms

Love Baby Love Sleep

It is wholly natural for newborn babies to nurse all the time. Even if they are full, infants will continuously ask to be fed every now and then. Because of this, some mothers find it very hard to tell when to continue or to stop nursing.

However, this is one trait that all new mothers should originate as over feeding your babies can lead to quite a amount of problems. So if you need a hand, here are some of the most base overfeeding baby symptoms that you should look out for in your infants.

One of the most safe bet overfeeding baby symptoms is unusually frequent bowel movement. Babies aged one month or older normally take off their bowels twice a day. Those who do so more frequently than this might be overfed. Some overweight infants can have six or more stools a day. Apart from that, green, watery and explosive stools are also very base signs of overfeeding.

Naturally, an overfed baby tends to be overweight. Normally, babies can gain one pound of body weight per week. Gaining weight beyond this can be a potential sign of overfeeding. So be very mindful of this every time you go on that routine doctor's check-up. Or good yet, make it a habit to monitor your baby's weight at home as frequently as you perhaps can.

The milk provide of the mom can also be used as a gauge to tell if the baby is overfed or not. Mothers with over abundant milk provide are most likely over feeding their babies. These mothers normally have a very strong milk ejection reflex and can spurt out milk at larger amounts than normal. This can cause the baby to gag and swallow air, which can ultimately lead to stomach pains and colic. One good way to compare overproduction of milk is by pumping out the milk with the use of a breast pump. However, the type of breast pump used and the time of the day that the milk is taken can largely sway the volume extracted.

Frequent crying and bad temper are also base overfeeding baby symptoms. An overfed baby is frequently grumpy and will steadily gain weight at a very short period of time. They are also very irritable and may have issue sleeping. Babies normally love to be nursed by their mothers. Overfeeding however, can be very unpleasant for infants. So be very mindful of your baby's attitude when nursing. If you continue ignoring these overfeeding baby symptoms, your baby may spend lesser and lesser time nursing and will only do so when he or she becomes very hungry. Infants who reach this stage may come to be dangerously dehydrated and may drastically lose weight. As a result, mothers may be forced to wean their infants at a very early age.

One of the best ways to forestall overfeeding your baby is to simply sacrifice your milk supply. However, it is very important to do this very gradually. You can start out by nursing your baby with only one breast per feeding session.

Feeding the baby with only one breast per feeding session gives him or her more hind milk. Hind milk is the last milk that comes out of the mother's breast, which has very high amounts of fats and calories. Decreasing the amount of milk per feeding session also prevents stomach distension and colic. This way, the milk goes straight through the baby's digestive law at a regular speed and most of the nutrients are absorbed into the body.

If the above mentioned recipe does not work, you can cut back on the feeding amounts even more. No matter how often your baby asks to be fed, you should feed your baby only once every three hours. But first, make sure that your baby has been diagnosed by a certified curative pro as an overweight and overfed baby before adapting this type of routine.

When your baby comes down with a cough, you want to do anyone you can to make her more comfortable. Yet at the same time, you don't want to grab over the counter medication, since there are normally side effects and chemicals that you'd rather not expose babies to if it can be avoided. What's more, modern studies have shown that cough syrups are worthless and the sugar they comprise may even prolong illness.

Thankfully there are quite a few natural remedies that you can try to calm your baby's cough. If your baby seems congested, take her in the bathroom and run a hot shower. The steam from the shower will help loosen that congestion in her lungs.

Putting your baby in a warm (not hot) bath can have the same effect. Make the bath even more sufficient by adding a few drops of eucalyptus, sage or thyme oil into the bath water. The vapors from these necessary oils will help open baby's airways, allowing her to breath easier. The vapors from these oils will also sooth a sore throat.

If your baby's cough is caused by croup, sometimes the best course of performance is to wrap her up warmly and take her out in the night air. The cold air sometimes calms the inflammation in the upper airways.

You can also use sage and thyme to make tea out of them. The warm herbal tea will help clear mucus out of your baby's lungs. Please check with your pediatrician to find out at what age you can start giving your baby these herbal teas.

Licorice tea is other great natural cough treatment. Licorice has antibacterial properties that will help you baby fight the bacteria that are causing the cough. It also soothes the throat and calms the respiratory tract; helping her get some much needed sleep. Make a cup of licorice tea and give it to your baby as warm as possible, of course without burning her.

Another very sufficient and polite natural cough remedy for babies is an herbal rub. Start with 3 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil and add 2 drops of necessary oils to the olive oil. Good oils to use are eucalyptus, sage, rosemary and peppermint oil. A combination of eucalyptus and rosemary works de facto well at night, since the eucalyptus will calm your baby's cough and allow her to breath easier, while the rosemary helps calm her down and drift off to sleep.

Mix the olive oil and necessary oils well, then apply the combination to your baby's chest and back. If the baby is small, swaddle her in a soft blanket, otherwise keep her back and chest as covered as possible with a thicker, tight fitting shirt to build up body heat which will allow the necessary oils to vaporize. As baby breathes in the fumes, breathing will get easier.

A humidifier is other great option when it comes to production your coughing baby more comfortable. Use a few of the same necessary oils recommend above and run the humidifier in baby's bedroom.

Some Moms have found that breastmilk will help soothe and heal a cough best than any other drink. If you're nursing and baby develops a cough, don't stop breastfeeding. Growth baby's feedings. Breastmilk is not a dairy goods and is the safest food for baby when he's sick.

This description is provided for facts purposes only. Please consult your baby's condition care victualer before trying home remedies.

The Dangers of Giving Your Baby Cereal in a Bottle

Love Baby Love Sleep

Many parents have been adding cereal to their babies bottles with the hopes that baby will sleep best straight through the night or because they feel the baby is not getting adequate to eat.

If you've heard the statements, "Add cereal to your babies bottle and he'll sleep for 5 hours" or "If your baby constantly wants to nurse or seems hungry, add cereal to the bottle," know that those are myths and not facts.

Your baby gets adequate cusine from breast milk or recipe for the first 6 months of life. In fact, many healing experts agree that introducing cereal before 4 months of age can cause food allergies. Additionally, adding cereal to your babies bottle is a bad idea. Period.

Experts like Dr. Alan Greene, M.D. Believe that the sucking and swallowing actions are not fully coordinated in some children, which can lead to pulmonary problems because they can inhale small amounts of rice cereal in their lungs.

What other dangers are there with adding cereal to a babies bottle? For one thing, your child could very well be on the road to obesity. The extra calories in the cereal itself is adequate to teach your child to overeat. When your child is at least 4 months of age, it is more convenient to introduce cereal by feeding your baby with a spoon. Not only does this teach them to learn to eat from a spoon, but it also allows them to rest in between and it helps the baby learn the proper way to eat.

Well, what about your mother, and your grandmother, and your sister, and all those habitancy who swear that adding cereal to a babies bottle will help them sleep and stay satisfied longer? Dr. Alan Greene, M.D. States, "I think the think is that kids do fall asleep a bit more quickly, and some babies may even go a bit longer between feedings. There is no scientific evidence, though, to keep the claim that cereal in the bottle will help an infant growth total sleep or decrease crying."'

The American Academy of Pediatrics also advises against feeding a baby cereal from a bottle. The only time feeding a baby cereal in a bottle is when your Pediatrician recommends it to help with reflux.

Obesity. Food Allergies. Pulmonary problems. Bad eating habits. Those are all adequate reasons to steer away from giving your baby a bottle of cereal. You may be happy you did.

Care of Wild Baby Mice

Love Baby Love Sleep

If for some theorize wild baby mice have been located in your care, I have included a few tips on caring and feeding to help you give them a chance at life. Please be aware that even in the wild, mice have a 50% chance of surviving beyond 5 months of age, given a normal upbringing. The mice that do make it can live up to nearby 5 years if healthy. A pair will have a great chance of survival than a lone mouse.

As soon as you have your baby mice, it is foremost to keep them safe and warm. You can use a small pet carrier, large plastic tub or any other convenient box in which you can put them. Layer the bottom with a towel and place the mice on top. Then, use someone else soft material to lightly cover the mice like fleece. Place the box in a warm place, ensuring that it isn't hot; otherwise the mice will come to be dehydrated. A heater on the bottom setting may be all that is needed. Test the towel the mice are laying on so that it feels cosy and warm to your hand.

If the baby mice are less than 14 days old they will need dropper fed with a milk substitute until they are weaned. They commonly open their eyes when they are just about weaned and able to eat by themselves. You will need to feed them every 2 hours so be prepared to get up during the night. Set your alarm. When I was looking after wild mice, I was getting up every 2 hours to check them. I have since read that during the night mother mouse would be away looking for food and may only return to the nest once to feed her babies. Use tasteless sense, if you can administrate a few night feeds, all the best for the babies chance of survival, especially in the early days.

Kitten milk is ready to buy at pet shops. I used raw coconut blended up and strained. It should be 1 cup coconut to about 2 and ½ cups water. You could also use soaked almonds to make an almond milk using the same ratios. Make sure the nuts are natural and plain. Once you've made up the milk, store in a sterilised glass jar and keep in the fridge until required. When you go to feed the mice, take a quarter a cup of the milk and warm it up by pouring it in a small jug and standing in hot water. Use a dropper or baby syringe (you can get these at the chemist) to feed 1 or 2 drops of the milk at a time into the baby mouse mouth. When the mice are verily young, they might not open their mouth. Be just not to get the milk up their noses, they will splutter/cough if you do. It can be hazardous for their condition if you do. The way I fed the mice was to put a facecloth down on a table and to put one mouse at a time onto it. Then you can moderately hold the baby's head whilst you administer the milk with the dropper. You'll get the hang of it with a bit of practise. The baby might not seem to be taking much milk, don't worry. Very young babies may only need to get a drop or 2 on their mouth/tongues until they can take more. The main purpose here is to keep them hydrated with a itsybitsy drop at a time every consolidate of hours.

Once the baby is fed, you need to stimulate a bowel movement. To do this, put some warm water in a small bowl and dip a cotton bud into it. Then, put the cotton bud in the middle of the baby's back legs and moderately turn the bud around. You should see a itsybitsy brown staining, that is their poo. Dip the other end of the bud into the water and moderately stroke the baby's body, this emulates the mother licking them. After all that, tuck baby up in it's soft bedding and place in a warm spot. This is the basic habit that needs to be repeated every consolidate of hours during the day and at least 2-3 times during the night, especially nearby 1am and 5am.

As you can see, it's quite a commitment, looking after baby wild mice. But, there is also a great recompense in the caring of them and the bonding you will feel as a carer.

When the babies start to open their eyes or at least take a peak, they may be taking a lot more milk and beginning to walk nearby a little. This is when you need to be extra careful; one fall is enough to be fatal. You can make a itsybitsy safe roaming area in the bottom part of a pet cage or shoebox/basin. Line it with newspaper and leaves to simulate a natural environment. The youngsters will enjoy stretching their legs and taking their first steps. This is important, as it will build up their muscles and strength.

Once the babies start to bite your fingers quite firmly when you feed them, they may be ready for a itsybitsy solid food. They will also be beginning to open their eyes (12-14 days old) Start very moderately with this. Try some baby fruit puree to start or natural rice pudding. The food should not be chilled. Let them lick it off your finger. Avoid putting the purees onto a dish for the mice to feed from, as they might get messy and end up with matted fur, which needs to be avoided. Some other foods to graduate to are porridge, banana, tomato, dried oat flakes, strawberry. Just go real easy with the food and keep it easy and verily digested to start with. Congratulations! You've verily made it to the weaning stage, which is quite something with wild baby mice.

Continue to supply a safe space for the mice to sleep and once weaned, they will be able to come out at night to feed. Give them a itsybitsy dish near their bed so they can feed during the night. At least you can get some sleep now! Continue to offer the milk during the day and supply some water for them. Usually, wild mice will still have some mothers milk up to about 4 weeks of age.

Now you have to rule whether to keep them or publish into the wild. I don't know how many mice have been successfully hand-reared and released into the wild. I would think it unlikely that they can survive. However, you've done your bit and if they seem strong and wholesome and quite active, it might be inherent to publish them. Or, you can keep them as pets.

Finally, if you did your best and the mice died, don't feel bad. Survival chances in the best of conditions i.e. With their natural mother are still low. Just enjoy the palpate you've had with them and the chance to get a note into their itsybitsy lives. They are itsybitsy bundles of love and it is breathtaking to have at least given them some love when otherwise they might have perished.

Do you know what we discovered? We didn't unmistakably need much. He got perfectly clean when I bathed him in the bathroom sink and washed his hair with the kitchen sink hose.

So why did I include most of the following items in this newborn baby checklist? Convenience. There is a Lot to be said for convenience when you have a newborn baby in the house!

(Foxworthy) No baby checklist would be perfect without "covering" this.
wet wipes - either commercial or home-made changing table with a water-proof pad 3 washable changing pad covers hand sanitizer diaper rash remedy wipe warmer diaper disposal or diaper pail with liners basket or diaper owner for holding diapers orderly If using disposable diapers: 10-12 disposable diapers per day Or If using cloth diapers: 24-36 cloth diapers 8-10 diaper covers inserts and liners diaper pins if the chosen system calls for them diaper sprayer Feeding - After you have decided either you will be breastfeeding or bottle feeding, you will want to think which items you will need to sustain you in growing a healthy baby. At least some of that time you will want to put him/her down to tend to your own needs. Your baby's safety while that time is paramount. Providing a safe, comfortable, familiar place to sleep will help your baby originate good sleeping habits which will in turn facilitate Your sleep. You will need:
sleeping place - crib with mattress, conveyable crib, bassinet, Moses basket, or co-sleeper 2 mattress pads 3 fitted sheets 6-8 receiving blankets baby monitor a small fan for air circulation and white noise Traveling - either it is over town or over the country - you will want to show off your baby (or at least re-stock on diapers). Traveling with a newborn is more complicated than grabbing your keys and walking out the door, but you will be ready for any trip if you have:
car seat diaper bag replacement car seat cover stroller baby sling or carrier blankets of varying thicknesses car seat tour bag for air travel portable crib Health - No one likes to think about their baby becoming ill, but sooner or later it is bound to happen. Parenting Children: The Do's and Don'ts of Getting Your 3-5 Year Old to Sleep

Love Baby Love Sleep

Are you struggling with a toddler or preschooler who refuses to go to sleep?

Getting children to go to sleep is one of the most talked about issues that concern parents, second only to getting your child to behave. There have been parents in near hysterics, trying to deal with a child who throws huge tantrums when asked to go to sleep.

There are any things you can do to help your 3-5 year old go to sleep without too much trouble:

1. Do stick to a schedule.

It's tempting during summer break to ease up on bedtime routines and allow your child to go to sleep late. If done occasionally it doesn't present a problem. Any way consistently allowing your child to dodge quarterly bedtimes creates confusion.

Persistent children will challenge bedtime, since it's their nature to push the envelope. Other children may feel insecure when routines aren't followed, and react with disruptive and uncontrollable behavior.

If you decree to allow your children to stay up late occasionally, program it first. You can decree to let your kids go to sleep late once a week, and pick a exact day.

2. Do ensue a consistent bedtime routine.

This is an confident one, and many parents feel that they've got this base covered. The key to this, however, is giving over the responsibility of carrying out the bedtime disposition to your child.

Even if your child is as young as three years old, they're capable of following a chart with pictures, putting a seal on a photo when the operation is completed.

The magic of this lies in the fact that many children view bedtime as something imposed from the outside, causing them to rebel naturally because "Mommy told me to." Putting your child in payment as much as potential reduces this natural resistance.

3. Don't use incentives or prizes for going to sleep longer than 30 days.

Incentives and rewards are a great way of providing the extra push a child needs in order to effort a difficult task. The best way to use incentives is in helping your child to stick to a habit.

Since acquiring a habit takes about 30 days, this is the maximum amount of time you should use prizes or incentives for a single behavior.

4. Do allow your child a crutch, if they need it.

As long as the crutch isn't damaging to your child's health, go ahead and let your child sleep with all 25 cars in his car collection. It won't hurt him, and if he manages to go to sleep despite the space limitations, why not?

Most children discard such unusual sleeping arrangements when they get old sufficient to be embarrassed about it (usually by the age of 9 or so).

5. Think using natural sleep aids or remedies.

There are numerous safe natural alternatives that will help your child decree down. Passiflora, for example, is safe for small children. It can be made into a soothing tea, and can help calm an overtired toddler or a too-full-of-energy preschooler. Lavender in a pillowcase has also been shown to promote sleep.

note: This is not healing advice, nor should it be taken as such. Use common sense, and ask your physician before you give anything to your child.

6. Don't forget to try and make up for lost sleep yourself.

Living with a child who refuses to go to sleep can sway your work, health, and your marriage. While you may not be able to make up all of the sleep time you've lost, do try and "power nap" for 15 minutes or so sometime during the day.

Sleep Routines - How to Adjust Your 1 Year Olds Sleep habit From 2 Sleeps to 1 and Stay Sane!

Love Baby Love Sleep

This is a beyond doubt coarse request and it is always a great idea to know what to anticipate and how you are going to cope these transitions. I understand that while we know our children may need two sleeps a day (at colse to 6 to 12 months of age), they take up much of the day and can make appointments, activities and the school run for older children quite tricky. It is sensible however to remember that while two sleeps may be sometimes inconvenient, your baby will make you pay if they are overtired or miss out on the sleep they need. That is why I love car capsules (for flexible transfers between the car and other locations for newborns) and encourage background noise on at home during sleeps, to enable your child to sleep through noise covering the home.

So, how do we know when our 12 month old babies are ready to go from 2 sleeps to 1?

*Baby will start to refuse one or both day sleeps but not cope all day until the night sleep.

*or reduce both sleeps to colse to 30-45 minutes.

Once you can see this happening for about a week and you are convinced they are ready for 1 sleep, try the following:

*Decide on a sleep time and lock it in place. I suggest 12 md. Remember you need to keep the sleep in the middle of the day so the baby can cope before and after the sleep until bedtime at colse to 7-7.30pm.

*Once you determine to turn to 1 sleep, it is prominent to keep one sleep and not swap between 1 sleep sometimes and 2 sleeps at other times. Your baby's body clock needs time to adjust and needs consistency for this to happen.

*Even though you may have been convinced that your baby was ready for 1 sleep, they will whinge in the morning at colse to 9-10am when they used to have a morning sleep and appear tired. I call this a 'hump' that you need to distract your baby through (outside is best for fresh air) until they get their second wind and can stay up until 12 md.

*Your baby may whinge at 'hump' time for a few weeks to a few months until their body clock adjusts to the 1 sleep. Remember that if you allow 2 sleeps to creep in sometimes you will delay the baby coping with the morning and not whinging.

*Baby will probably have lunch at 11.30am.

*Avoid 'power naps' of a minimum of 10 minutes sleep when travelling in the car or the stroller if at all inherent in the mornings. A power nap will prevent your baby sleeping at lunchtime and create a monster to deal with until bedtime.

Tip: Remember that your baby needs to earn their sleep with bodily activity, No Tv in the morning and great healthy family meals. Your baby should be so tired that they are begging you to go to sleep! If not, they haven't earned their sleep and have spent too much time sitting in something (a stroller, play pen, swing, shopping trolley, walker).

Alcohol And Sleeping Pills - A Deadly Mix

Love Baby Love Sleep

Being arrested for a Dwi can be a huge hassle for all population involved. Once you are arrested, you will then have to call an Austin Dwi lawyer to come and help you with your case. Some population even take this a step added and take some sort of pills to go along with the alcohol. Sleeping pills for instance can cause some bad effects if they are combined with alcohol.

Alcohol usually acts as a depressant which slows your body down and makes you feel tired. Alcohol also tends to relax all of your muscles. Alcohol tends to amplify any snoring you might have and make it louder than it usually would be. Alcohol by itself can also cause what is called obstructive sleep Apnoea. Obstructive sleep Apnoea is when you are sleeping and there are parts of time where you are not breathing at all.

Sleeping pills, much like alcohol, act as a depressant. Sleeping pills are made to make your body feel relaxed and to make you feel drowsy adequate to want to go to sleep. These sleeping pills are also made for you to be able to sleep at least 8 hours of rest. Some of the sleeping pills out there have been linked to the pill that is called the "date-rape" drug. This is a drug used to make victims fall asleep hard adequate to not realize what is happening.

Mixing alcohol and sleeping pills can be a somewhat horrible mix. Because both of these pills are depressants, they can cause some serious side effects if they are taken at the same time. When they are taken together, they cause your body to relax more than it beyond doubt should. This means that your breathing drastically is slowed down. This is bad because the less oxygen gets to your blood cells the more your blood pressure drops. Your blood pressure dropping can lead to a number of things that will be quite harmful for your body. If you stop breathing for long enough, it could put your body into a coma. The lack of air entering your body will finally begin to work on the doing of your organs. If you are not taken care of immediately once your body is put into a coma, it is very likely that you will die due to lack of oxygen and a number of other things.

Baby Sleeping Pattern - What to Expect in 3-6 Months Old Baby's Sleeping?

Love Baby Love Sleep

Three months have passed and now your baby is entering the second trimester. At this point every parent want to know how much their baby should be sleeping as parents did not get adequate sleep while the first 3 months of their baby life. Most parents want to know when they will get their sleeping pattern back to general and want to know what to expect at this stage.

Baby sleeping pattern while their 3-6 months old varies from one to another. Although, babies at the age of 3-6 months are able to sleep longer at night, this doesn't mean you should suddenly apply a rigid sleep program on your baby at 3-4 months old.

In fact, your baby may already have advanced their own sleeping patterns. Some may just sleep 6 hours while the night and have about 3-5 hours nap in the afternoon, some may sleep 12 hours right with some short naps while the day, and with breastfed babies, some may have regular sleep and wake time to get fed more. This may not sound so much relieving if you're hoping for sudden eight or nine hours of sleep for yourself. But it's an important milestone for you as well as your baby, and by 6 months or before, your baby will be likely to be ready for night long sleep.

Many parents might ask, what would be the general sleeping for my baby (between 3-6 months old)? The acknowledge is there is no "normal" sleeping pattern in your 3-6 month old baby. If you are happy with your baby's sleep pattern, there is no need to turn it. There are many ways to be 'normal'. But if you'd like to create longer sleeping and keep more regular hours on your baby, now might be a good time to try some type of sleep training. All the time remember that every baby is unique one an additional one in developmental schedule. See how your child reacts to the sleep training, and if he doesn't seem ready, slow down and try again in a few weeks.

It sure takes time, but by 3-6 months most babies will "understand" that nighttime is for sleeping and are able to sleep for 6-12 hour stretches. This must be great news to parents who are normally very exhausted by this stage and finding for a break!

Oh no, my baby is waking up again!

Don't panic! Although it can be frustrating but it is general if your baby who has already slept for long period at night and then one day he starts to wake up again.

Well don't be surprised. Your baby has his reasons. As your baby grows, he may have more public awareness that he may cry for your attentiveness and companion. It can also because he has new skills such as rolling over that he might custom it while his sleep and wakes himself up. It's part of life process.

Some tips to help your baby sleeps well at this age

Make sure your baby is stimulated while the day to make sleeping longer at night is more likely. Pay attentiveness to your baby's cues. It could be cues to play or cues to sleep. while their 3-6 months old, babies enjoy going for walks, tummy time, listening music, playing toys or just being cuddled with mom or dad.

Meeting your baby's needs is very important and requires attentiveness from parent side. By being active while the day, it teaches your baby the dissimilarity in the middle of daytime and nighttime.

So here are the tips to originate desired sleeping pattern for your baby:

Teach your baby to fall asleep independently.

As in adult's sleep, we have sleeping cycle, deep sleep and light sleep. Light sleep is when we awake for a short period of time. It can be a few seconds or few minutes. All of that, we do that without realizing it. After that short awake moment, we are able to get back sleep on our own automatically.

Baby is the same. They also have sleep cycle. Only they have shorter period in the middle of deep sleep and light sleep than us as adult. That is why the smaller the baby, the more awake occasion he will have.

Therefore, the quality to get back to sleep is the basic when it comes to snoozing through the night. Some babies are able to do it naturally, but some are not and need to be trained. One of the methods is to put her down to sleep when she is drowsy but awake. Many parents have been mistakenly to put their baby down on cot after he wholly sleeps on parents arm.

It needs time to train your baby to fall asleep by himself. So be patient.

Generate regular bed time and nap time.

Choose the bed time and nap time that suits your family's schedule. Unlike in newborns where their bed times are when you start noticing one of these signs: eye rubbing, ear pulling, red eye, and so on no matter what the time is, now that your baby is a itsybitsy older, it is time for you to originate regular bedtime and nap time to your baby in order to regulate his sleeping patterns.

You can start by setting a regular bed time and nap time every day. For example: bed time is 8 o'clock at night, and nap time is 9 o'clock in the morning, 12 noon and last is 3 o'clock in the afternoon. It does not to be literal, though, as long as she is getting adequate opportunity to sleep, whether arrival is fine.

Take your baby to sleep by some routine. It will be explained in the next point below.

Remember that being too tired can make it harder for your baby to resolve down whether while bedtime or nap time. And for sure, your household routine will sway your baby sleeping patterns too.

Set a bedtime routine.

You can do the following routine before putting your baby to sleep:

Giving your baby a bath. Reading your baby a story. Singing a lullaby. And so on.

You can do each of them for dissimilar sleeping time. For example, singing a lullaby for night bedtime but reading a story for nap time and so on.

By introducing the same routine, same order and same time everyday, your baby will acknowledge that it is time for him to sleep whether night bedtime or nap time.

Set your baby daily clock.

Now it may sound weird, but it is ok to wake your baby in obvious time if he is sleeping more than his usual time.

By doing this, you will set his daily clock and your baby will corollary the regular sleeping and waking patterns.

You can wake him up by calling his name gently while rubbing his had, or kiss him gently so he does not get surprised.

Just some quick short notes:

Never apply sleeping training to newborn. Your new baby needs to be fed every few hours, so it's general and wholesome for him to sleep for just a few hours at a time. acknowledge right away to his cries, feed and comfort him.

It is recommended that you sleep when your newborn sleeps to minimize your own sleep deprivation. Train only when he is ready and normally it starts after three months of age. Don't force him.

Good luck and enjoy your parenting moment. See it as a fun way and you will get less stress.

Baby Shower Thank You Notes - You Deserve Help, time to come Mom

Love Baby Love Sleep

Writing baby shower thank you notes seems simple. However, with a million things to do as an expectant mother, the biggest challenge is finding the time. The sheer labor (pardon the pun) of mailing and writing all of your baby shower thank you notes can be overwhelming.

Ideally, every person would get a handwritten thank you for their baby gift. However, if you just don't have the time to write everyone, there is a loophole. Formal etiquette for gift thank you notes is that a card is not required in cases where the giver was gift for the chance of the gift and received a thank you in person.

Use this as a gentle dividing line if you are short on time.

You need help. Delegate. When somebody asks you, "Is there anyone I can do?" You say, "Yes." If no one has specifically offered to help, ask. every person wants to help out the most foremost man in the word--and that's You expectant Mom. Assemble a team of your biggest fans.

If one task is too much, then delegate that task to a merge of people. You can have friends or house members help you by doing part of or all of the following:

1) If you don't have them already, get man on Team Mom to pick out and purchase the baby shower thank you notes or some cute stationary sets.

2) You'll need stamps. Send man to get them or have the post office deliver them to you.

3) Put the stamps on the envelopes. Heck, if the man who drops off the stamps, comes in for coffee. Ta-dah! You have a exquisite coffee-time task.

4) Assemble a list of current addresses via group E-mail or calling people over the phone.

5) Address the baby shower thank you card envelopes. Once again, if you get somebody else to do whole four for you or with you, there's a shot that when the man comes over to give you the list you can do the coffee thing again and have her help you.

6) Bonus delegation task--Put Dad be in payment of writing the thank you notes, and the two of you sign them. Favorable explanations: My knuckles are sore and swollen. He wants to be an active Daddy.

You can end your baby shower thank you cards without setting aside an whole afternoon or day. What Mom or Mom-to-Be has that much free time? Use these easy steps:

1) Address and stamp all the envelopes in advance. (See above)

2) Write on the flip-side of the gift tag for each gift a nice comment about the gift. Alternatively, if you threw away all the tags, you can just put a note in each envelope saying who sent what and something nice about it. (Ex. Carol-stork diaper basket-cute sailor hat on stork) This insures you do not have to waste time finding up the spoton spelling of the giver's name or struggle to remember who gave you what.

3) Put the labeled gift tags or notes in corresponding envelopes.

4) Print out a thank you note template or sample note to base your cards on such as the ones found at http://www.my-thank-you-site.com/sample-thank-you-note-wording.html .

5) Carry a few envelopes and blank cards with you. When you are waiting at that next doctor's appointment, fill out a few. Other good times to do this include, waiting for food at a restaurant, in in the middle of cycles of laundry, when you can't sleep, and during commercials (instead of keeping the fast transmit button on the Tivo). The great thing about doing a few or just one at a time is that it keeps your handwriting neat.

6) Drop your ended cards in the nearest mailbox immediately. Do not wait to mail them from home all at once. Just put them in the mail. This way you will have to hurry up and end the rest soon, and your stack will be smaller. You can delegate this task, but some people, have a tendency to "forget." Make sure it is somebody reliable.

comprehension the Baby Soft Spot

Love Baby Love Sleep

Most citizen are unaware that babies actually have a baby soft spot on the top of the head which is solitaire or kite shaped (anterior fontanel) and another one at the back of the head which is triangular (posterior fontanel).

A newborn soft spot exists where the skull has not fully complete at birth. The anterior fontanel is ordinarily about two inches wide and can remain to some degree until the baby is around eighteen months of age. The posterior fontanel is only half an inch wide and closes relatively quickly between the ages of six to twelve weeks.

A baby soft spot is very leading to the baby's wellbeing. First, the gap in the skull makes the baby's journey down the birth canal easier because it allows the head to turn shape. For example, you may have seen a baby born with a cone shaped head. The fontanel also allows the head to return to a normal shape after the birth. Second, baby soft spots allow the brain to grow and found during the first year of life. A baby's brain grows very quickly during the first year of life and needs room to grow. Once closed, a skull cannot stretch or expand.

The baby's newborn soft spot is also used by doctors to help with diagnosis when your baby is unwell. A depressed fontanel, for example, indicates dehydration while a bulging fontanel can be a indication of illness of meningitis. A swollen fontanel could also be a sign of other infection. If a baby soft spot is either depressed or swollen, you need to have the baby checked by a pediatrician. When the baby is well, the fontanel will develop and move as the baby moves, breathes, laughs or cries.

Since there is no skull over the baby soft spot protecting the baby's brain, you need to be extra careful around that area. It is particularly leading to ensure that older siblings do not push down on the fontanel when playing with baby. However, having said this, many citizen are overly worried about their baby's soft spots and afraid to touch the area for fear of doing damage. The fact is the baby soft spot actually protects the baby from most coarse forms of damage. The soft membrane cushions the brain so that he or she is protected from coarse baby falls and risks. Although the fontanel is soft, it is made of a tough, fibrous membrane. It is the uncommon accidents or pressures that become more risky without a complete skull, not the normal bumps and falls of babies studying to crawl and walk.

However, if you are involved about your baby's newborn soft spot for any reason, ask your doctor at the baby's next check-up. This will alleviate any concerns you may have and make sure that your baby is healthy and well.
